"The Exterminating Angel" is an opera by the great British composer Thomas Adès, based on the 1962 film of the same name by Luis Buñuel. The guitar is featured prominently in the third act, which is where this interlude takes place, though in the opera it is presented in ensemble with mezzo-soprano and Ondes Martenot. The guitar part works wonderfully as a violent and virtuosic miniature when p...

    Fantastic playing of a VERY difficult piece. Kudos. This wouldn't/doesn't come off without this sort of technical and interpretive mastery. I won't be learning this anytime soon...p.s. this piece is context relevant. That is, it's played at a particular moment in an opera. It's expressive of that moment. I don't know that it works that well on its own as a solo piece.

      Thank you, Jeffrey! It is indeed the hardest I have ever worked to bring 3 minutes of music to life... but well worth the effort. There are some new solo guitar works by Adès that will be premiered by Sean Shibe this coming season. The guitar world anxiously awaits!

    Wow, der Unterschied zum Original für Harfe ist gewaltig! Kommt auf den Gitarren irgendwie nicht so richtig rüber! Eigentlich seltsam. Beide sind Zupfinstrumente und dennoch. An Euch liegt es nicht. Euer Spiel ist ziemloich strak. Ich denke das liegt am Nachhall der Harfe und dem wesentlich größeren Tonumfang. Da kann man wesentlich dynamischer spielen als selbst auf 2 Gitarren verteilt, was ich im Prinzip super finde. Aber Debussy wusste schon für welches Instrument er welche Musik komponiert. Nach wie vor. Liebe Gitarristen, es gibt soviel ungespielte Originalmusik für Gitarre.

    • @skidz12341
      @skidz12341 2 роки тому

      Ich weiß Ihren Kommentar zu schätzen, aber die Version für Harfe ist auch eine Bearbeitung. Das Original ist für Klavier. Die Gitarre mag in Ihren Ohren weniger wirkungsvoll sein als eines dieser Instrumente, aber sie ist die einzige Wahl, die ich als Gitarrist habe, und ich liebe Debussy! Wir spielen auch viel originale Gitarrenmusik. Dies ist ein Arrangement eines Harfenstücks, ich wäre neugierig zu erfahren, ob Sie es auch weniger wirkungsvoll finden: ua-cam.com/video/2J6Oe0sMYIE/v-deo.html Vielen Dank fürs Zuhören!
